Life is Strange: Double Exposurelike many games, will be releasing multiple editions of the game that include different amounts of additional content – mostly cosmetic – depending on which edition is purchased. Of course, this also means that the cost of each edition goes up as more content is included. From standard to ultimate, the team behind Life is Strange has shown what each option includes.
Double Exposure is returning to the roots of Life is Strange by bringing back the original protagonist, Max Caulfield. Having graduated after a trying senior year of high school, Max is now in college and has a new set of friends by her side. Unfortunately, bad luck and crime follow her there as one of her new friends becomes a murder victim. Max hasn’t used her powers since the events of the first game, but now she’s ready to rewind time and try to figure out what happened to her friend, and prevent more people from becoming victims.
Everything In Life Is Strange: Double Exposure Standard Edition
The Base Package Gives The Game, & Little Else
Purchasing the standard edition for Life is Strange: Double Exposure gives the buyer only the game. Considering the name of this edition, it makes sense that the only content that it provides is the basics of what should be expected, which is the game and nothing else with it. Since there are no bells and whistles included with the standard edition, it’s the cheapest option to purchase.
However, most of the additional content that comes with other editions is outfit packsso that will likely be a big influence when it comes to deciding which version to purchase.
What’s In Life Is Strange: Double Exposure Deluxe Edition
Pick Up Two Outfit Packs For A Higher Price
Of course, the deluxe edition of Life is Strange: Double Exposure includes the game. In addition to the game itself, this version also includes two outfit packs. These outfit packs are the Decades Outfit Pack and the Spooky Outfit Pack.
The Decades Outfit Pack includes classic looks from the past, such as a ’50s inspired look for Max. However, the Spooky Outfit Pack is the perfect addition considering the release date for Life is Strange: Double Exposure, as it lets Max dress up for the Halloween season.
Life Is Strange: Double Exposure Ultimate Edition & Preorder Bonuses
The Most Expensive Option Comes With A Preorder Bonus
The ultimate edition of Life is Strange: Double Exposure includes the most extra content among the options, but that also means it’ll cost the most. This edition includes:
- the game itself
- the Decades Outfit Pack
- Spooky Outfit Pack
- Final Fantasy VII Outfit Pack
- Paw Prints Outfit Pack
- Fan Favorite Outfit Pack
- additional cat content.
That’s a total of 25 outfits to choose from, and a side story about a lost cat that shows up at Max’s home, which she tries to reunite with its owner as she takes care of it.
Additionally, the ultimate edition is the only version with a pre-order bonus. Buying this version grants access to chapters one and two earlyletting players jump in on October 15 rather than October 29. If the chapter length is comparable to the original game, then that’s more than enough time to complete them before Double Exposure is officially released.
Life is Strange returning to its first protagonist and her ability to rewind time is an interesting decision. Unfortunately, there are a lot of questions about the first game that will likely go unanswered, such as which ending is canon. Despite that, solving another murder mystery with Max Caulfield should be a fun time, even with a new cast of side characters in Life is Strange: Double Exposure.
